There is an interesting article on the Home Page of FPi this evening..."Planning Around The Eucharist."
For a number of years I have heard the term "Christian Financial Planning" used but I never knew of an organization that positioned themselves as Christian Financial Planners. Well now there is one...and the strength behind it comes from the relationship between it and Larry Burkett and Crown Ministries.
The membership requirements are somewhat demanding but I did notice one thing interesting when I reviewed their website...they embrace ALL methods of compensation among their members.
As an aside...I discovered Larry Burkett's work in 1988-1989. I read his book on living debt free and it struck a cord with me. I recommend his books for personal as well as professional insights.
FYI...there is a course offering through Crown Ministries that offers 20 CE for CFP's. For those of you wanting some excellent education on debt management and debt counseling...I recommend it highly.
I'd be interested in the thoughts of others on this "niche" in financial planning. While it is not unique...I saw a book recently on Investing Principals for Followers of Islam...I think it is an area that will survive the dire predictions of Mr. Hurley, in his White Papers.
As my favorite TV Pastor Robert Schuller says. "GOD Loves You and So Do I!"
